Shaam to debut in Telugu

Noted model-turned-actor Shaam, who made his debut in tinsel town with ace filmmaker Jeeva’s critically-acclaimed Tamil film 12B (2001), is all set to shed his chocolate-boy reputation and gear up for an unparalleled role! It’s all about his forthcoming Telugu film Kick, which marks his dream debut into Tollywood.

Expected to hit screens on May 7, Kick is an action adventure flick presenting Shaam in the role of a cop alongside Ravi Teja. Kick is directed by Surendar Reddy, who earlier made super hit Athanokkade. Ileana is the heroine. The film, touted as different from other Ravi Teja films, promises wholesome entertainment.

The film’s music launch was on Sunday (April 19) at Taj Deccan in Hyderabad with several guests from Tollywood. However, heroine Illeana did not attend. Actor Nitin, director V.V. Vinayak, veteran producer D. Rama Naidu, actor Saikumar, director Meher Ramesh and others graced the ceremony. Music is by S.S. Thomas.

The shooting of the talkie portions is over and the crew is in presently in Malaysia to can the songs. Produced by R.R. Movie Makers with a hefty budget of Rs. 20 crores, Kick has Brahmanandam, Sunil, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Sayaji Shinde, Jayaprakash Reddy, Ali, Rahgubabu and Jeeva in the cast.
