Fire causes damage at AVM Studios!

AVM Studios is the home of film production in Kollywood and many films have been filmed in its premises. AVM is also one of the biggest production houses in Kollywood and it is a name that commands respect.

Actor Vijay’s Vettaikaran is currently being shot here at a hectic pace. But just a few hours back, a major fire broke out inside the studios and has caused damage worth almost three crores!

There were no casualties and the fire brigade immediately came to the rescue. But the damage was already done. The exact reason for the fire is not known yet, but the police suspect a short circuit.

A few scenes of Vettaikaran were shot at the sets but the unit was shocked to learn that many equipments were badly damaged. Now, the Vettaikaran shoot has been suspended temporarily to take stock of the situation and the makers are busy coming out with an alternative to ensure that it is completed by Diwali.

Vettaikaran is produced by AVM Productions and directed by Babu Sivan. Vijay is paired opposite Anushka and this is his 49th film!
